Kelly Nails It
After much trepidation and procrastination, Kelly went and took her driving test today over at the Fremont DMV. In preparation for her test, we had gone out a couple of times and driven all over Fremont with special attention given to the area around the DMV. She was as ready as she would ever be, a real good driver, but still a nervous Nelly. She was sweating profusely and felt like throwing up while we were waiting in line for the drive test. When the evaluator showed up, I went to a shade spot and started praying. Kate called twice wanting a status update. I called Barb and told her to say a prayer as well. The 20 minutes it took for Kelly to pull back into the DMV must’ve seemed like an eternity for her. As she got out of the car and started walking towards me, she mouthed something like “I don’t know if I passed or not?!”. Upon further review of her test sheet, it turns out that she had made only one mistake!( You are allowed to make 15 mistakes and still receive your license). The lady back inside the DMV who issued her her temp license even said that she hadn’t seen a “one” in a long long time. Congratulation to Kelly!!! YOU DID IT!!!!
I’m sure it was Kelly’s fine driving that got her to pass, but the prayers didn’t hurt either! Now the fun begins. We have two teenagers who will be fighting over who gets to drive what.
