Top of the Mark – Back of the Pack

Buddy, Tom,  of Clear Lake Crew fame ,  went in partners on a race horse.  yesterday afternoon at Bay Meadows in the 7th race, “TOP OF THE MARK” made its racing debut.  Wednesday racing at the track is reserved for the hardcore race fan and hardcore gamblers. Not the usual weekend crowd, that’s for sure.  Did I mention that Al Shull was there? We wanted to be there when Tom’s horse raced. Got to hang out with other owners in the paddock  and the area where the owner meets the jockey and gets on the horse. Pretty cool.  Top of the Mark didn’t start to well and didn’t finish strong. Finished second to last in a 7 horse field. Turns out the jockey lost his whip right at the start and pretty much had to sweet talk the horse into running. Either way, it was a fun to spend a little time at the track with friends.  One of these days we’ll be partying at Top of the Mark celebrating a victory of Top of the Mark.  Click the picture of the horse to see how fast he was running.
