Weekend Fun

Weekend Fun

Already mentioned that Kate went to the homecoming dance Friday Night. Kelly also had her senior picture taken for the yearbook the same night. Saturday we started the day with a soccer game against Danville. We lost a nail biter 3-2. Later that evening we all went to the American High homecoming game against Kennedy. American won the JV game but lost in the varsity contest, We still had a good time though. A lot less pressure when our kids aren’t participating. Sunday morning Barb and I went on a 12.5 mile walk. Her 3-day, 60 mile walk is in a couple of weeks so she wanted to get in a nice long practice walk. We decided to walk the same route as our usual bike rides out to Coyote Hills and back. Up until yesterday the longest I had walked (since my days in the Army) was up to Mission Peak and back, which is about 7 miles. The 12 miler took us about 4.5 hours. We did stop a few time along the way. The pumpkin patch and corn maze were in full gear at Ardenwood. The gathering of Ohlones Peoples was going on out at Coyote Hills. The last few miles home was somewhat difficult. Leg muscles and feet were screaming! Needless to say, I’m hurting today. Could not imagine walking another 20 today and tomorrow.
