Moss Beach Party

Moss Beach Party

Distillery-Side-View-LighHooked up with neighbors Armando and Claudia, and Roni and Norm for dinner out at Moss Beach Distillery Saturday night. We drove from Fremont at 5pm where it was around 85 degrees. As we drove over highway 92 and into Half Moon Bay, we could see the fog hugging the coast. Must’ve been a 20+ degree difference. I could tell that there would’nt be any spectacular California sunset that night. Reminded me of my Daly City Days !! Anyway, the whole night was great. We had a 7:45 dinner reservation so we got there early enough to spend some quality time on the outdoor patio. Even though the fog was in, the place provides blankets for everyone if you wanted. Really a great location and atmosphere.

DSCF0572This place hugs the coast and used to be a drop off for illegal booze during prohibition. The distillery really has a rich history. Speaking of booze, we had a couple of cocktails while we waited for our table. Real good bloody marys at this place. Nice and spicy. Let me also mention that it was both Mando and Claudia’s wedding anniversery AND Roni’s birthday this weekend so we had extra cause to celebrate, and we did! Our table was ready around 8pm and we had the best seats in the house. Corner window, Ocean view, if you could see it for the fog! Either way it was still the best seat in the house. The Food was great too. Barb and I split a spinach salad with good toasted julianned onions. Barb had the Qoquille, some baked creamy seafood dish, I had the Porterhouse steak. Melt in your mouth delicious. Others had either the pork chops or the Jalisco prawns and filet mignon. Everything was wonderful! Dessert was an apple tart with vanilla ice cream and Bailey’s & coffee. What a feast!! We closed the place that night and were the last ones to leave. All in all a great night out. The drive home was only 40 minutes. I always say the great part about living in Fremont is that we are only 45 minutes from anywhere we want to be. And its true. Anyway, can’t wait for another night out with the neighbors. CHEERS

You can also check out the longer, better account of our night out over at LOPEZWERKS. He got all the good pictures that night, some of which I have already taken. Forgot to mention that Barb dropped the digital camera earlier that day on a bike ride and took it out of commission for the evening. Mando took great pictures.
