Shull Family to Holy Spirit – OLG stunned

Shull Family to Holy Spirit – OLG stunned

Ya heard it here first folks. In a major diocesan coup, Holy Spirit Church and School has lured away The Shull family after a lustrous 7 year career at St. Leonard’s (Now Our Lady of Guadalupe School) with reports of a two year deal.

Along with Nick Shull moving into 7th grade and bolstering the boys Basketball team, the school also gets mom Debbie, perennial PTA/school board member and book fair coordinator, as well as Current OLG CYO Athletic director and boys basketball coach, Dad, Al Shull

In what is being described as a stunning loss to the already struggling OLG program, the Shull family moves to the front-running Holy Spirit, where the Spartans will surely capitalize. Details of the deal were not made public but rumors are circulating that in addition to tapping Al Shull to assistant coach in the boys basketball program, the Shulls will also be donating their BBQ grill to the annual Holy Spirit Summer Camp Out. A deal may even be in works to get Al to sing with the church choir. Young Nick has already tried out for the boys basketball team.

In an unofficial ceremony Saturday at Pescadaro beach (pictured above), Former St. Leonard’s School board president, Jim Flaherty, presents Al Shull to former Holy Spirit Athletic director and choir member, Steve Lewellyn

Beach Day

Beach Day

IM003471bWe hit the beach yesterday with a drive over highway 84 into San Gregorio. Took a left on Highway 1 and parked at Pomponio Beach. Nice little coastal hideaway just north of Pescadero. We still had Gracie with us. That, along with the Shull Family, Lewellyn family caravaned over the hill from Fremont. Diane, Colin and a buddy, Kevin met us there. It turned out to be a great day. Partly cloudy and overcast as we made our way to the beach turned into mostly sunny and warm the rest of the day. We spread out our blankets, set up our chairs and enjoyed a great day at the beach. 16 of us all together. Between playing in the surf, tossing the frisbee around a bit, throwing the footbal, doing a little boogie boarding and body surfing (BOY IS THAT WATER COLD!!), visiting, eating and drinking, we all kept busy for most of the afternoon there.
