Autumn Hiking

\"Dsc05595_2\" For the third Sunday in a row Barb and I have hiked Mission Peak. Yesterday was perfect hiking weather. Sunny and warm with slight breeze.  We got on the trail around 10am and were at the peak by 11:30.  Enjoyed some time up there then took a different route off the top. \"Dsc05598_1\"Instead of going the way we came, we went down the southern route towards Monument Peak, then around the back side of Mission peak back to where the Stanford and Ohlone trails meet. It was a nice change!  Saw the new backpackers campground that is used for back backers (note the sign in the pic says backback camp, a misspelling ) who are spen\"Dsc05600_1\"ding a few days exploring the Sunol Regional Wilderness.  We were talking about how nice it is to hike in the fall. The cooler temps make for a comfortable assent. On some of those hot summer days, if you don\’t get started early morning, the sun will beat you down. We are thinking about doing a group hike one of these weekends. Anyone interested?
