Lizard in my shoe

I have an old pair of shoes out on the front porch that I use when I mow the lawn and scoop poop. The other day I went out to scoop, put on my shoes and felt something in there. I figured it was a stick or something that Mali had hidden in there. I give the shoe a couple of shakes and out comes a big old lizard!  Bigger than most I have seen around here, and without a tail!   Gross!

Back on the Grid

Took a little time off from posting.  That’s not to say there hasn’t been a lot going on here. Life goes on even if the posts don’t.  The big news in our life is that  Barb got laid off last month.  After working for the company for almost 9 years, she was gone.   What we thought was a “family”  company, who would look out for its people,  turned out to be like all the rest.   In the month that she has been gone,  all her so-called “friends” at the old company have deserted her.  No phone calls, no emails, nothing.  I guess they really weren’t friends after all.

What really pisses me off is that these assholes continue to check in  here at jimsjoint!!  For a company that is cutting costs and trying to save money, they seem to have a lot of time to read jimsjoint everyday!  If I could block them I would.  Our blog is for friends and family ONLY!   Not some  ex-(so-called) friends who are trying to ease their own guilt ridden consciences without having to confront reality.

The reality is that you should get back to work before I tell your boss that you are goofing off yet again.

We are getting on with our life.  Get on with yours!

ahhhhh……..technology

IMG00043-20090412-1921 Its so cool to be able to stay connected with the ones we love. We are able to talk, text or chat with Kate almost everyday when shes not in training. Its almost like shes still here! Most mornings I’m up early, and knowing that Kate is 3 hours ahead,  I can send her a text or IM telling her good morning.  I’m always taking phone cam pictures (mostly of the dogs) and sending them REAL-TIME to Kate (and Barb and Kelly). Its like we can bring Kate into the moment.  Or she can bring us into hers. While texing back and forth I asked “how about a picture?” a few seconds later it was like I was with her in the bathroom (head) of her squadbay : )  Back in my day it was a collect phone call or hand written letters. Now its email, Facebook, blogging and texting.  Next its Skype and Twitter.  Ahhhhh…….technology!

P S – I love that kid!
