Hayward Thanksgiving Soccer Tournament
Getting ready to go out in the rain for day two of the Hayward Thanksgiving soccer Tournament. Day one was played under clear and sunny skies as both JV and Varsity squads recorded victories with wins against Encinel in the morning match and Mt. Eden in afternoon play.JV girls beat Encinel 10-1 in the morning opener followed by a similar thrashing of 7-1 in the varsity contest. Kelly scored the first two goals for the Eagles and Kate again played shutout ball as the second half goalkeeper 
The afternoon games proved tougher for both teams. JV girls struggled early but managed to squeak out a 2-1 victory against the JV girls from Mt Eden. A similar 2-1 score in the varsity contest made for pair of exciting afternoon matches. The highlight of the varsity girls match was a sweet header into the net off an American corner kick, which turned out to be the go ahead goal with 10 minutes left to play.
